Rev. Michael Walker: Pastor, Messiah Baptist Church, Brockton

“The Museum has been a God send to our community.   We bring our kids here and they play and roam around the place. They touch everything and climb everything. It’s wonderful! It’s play! It’s learning! And it’s FUN!”

“The children of my community – not just my church but the children of Brockton – love coming to the Museum.”  The Children’s Museum’s outreach program extends to Rev. Michael’s academic club for kids.

“The Museum has been a God send to our community.  We bring our kids there, they play and roam around the place.  They touch everything and climb everything.  It’s wonderful!  It’s play!  It’s learning! And, it’s fun!

“Although the Museum is only 7 miles from Brockton … this jewel, this treasure … for some kids could be a thousand miles away.  The Children’s Museum is present and alive and real for kids in Brockton.”

Rev. Michael believes the best learning takes place when children are having fun.  “One class, the teacher had the children guessing how many marbles were in a vase.  It was incredible.  They were guessing … they were estimating … they were counting … they were learning physics and mathematics and having still having fun!”
