Nelson Fernandez is the owner of Nelson Cruz Entertainment. He and his wife Erin McCarthy, a professional photographer, have three children under the age of six. “My first encounter with the Children’s Museum was with our oldest, Stella. She was 18 months at the time; I liked the Museum so much that I recreated parts of it in our basement!”

“First I painted a castle and then we added dragons and some knights. Within a year we had a nice castle area. I bought a couple of crabs, and the pirate ship… we just love the Children’s Museum so much.” Nelson said that even though they have re-created their own museum his children still want to visit the real thing!

“We adore the ‘Wild Place!’ We love the little gazebo and the bubble station, the elephant, the dinosaur garden and the tree house. We’re so impressed by how creative the Museum staff are and the details in everything.” Although Nelson has had many fun visits he says, “The Museum is more than just a place to play. It’s our ‘go-to’ place. It feels like family, it feels like home.”
