November 19th is National Adoption Day
The Children's Museum in Easton is helping to make this a special day by celebrating with 27 families in the Brockton area as their adoptions are finalized.
Museum staff will join the Brockton Juvenile Court, Eliot Tatelman of Jordan's Furniture, Jack Williams from WBZ TV and advocates for adoptive families with special craft activities celebrating these new families. The families will be able to make picture frames and put the first photo of the expanding family members in the frames to take to their new home.
National Adoption Day is a national day of celebration of adoptive families and an opportunity for courts to open their doors and finalize the adoptions of children from foster care. Since 2000, more than 35,000 children have had their adoptions finalized on National Adoption Day.
National Adoption Day is one day in a year-round effort to raise awareness of the 107,000 children in foster care waiting for permanent and loving families. For more info visit national adoption day.org
