“At the Children’s Museum the children set the pace, choose the activity, stretch their bodies and IMAGINATIONS, and create their own stories.”

Board member and longtime volunteer, Meri Schreiber is a mother, grandmother, and a retired early childhood teacher.  In helping to create and test new exhibits, Meri has made her professional expertise invaluable to the Museum.

As a teacher, Meri knows the value of play.  She says, “… at the Children’s Museum the children set the pace, choose the activity, stretch their bodies and imaginations, and create their own stories.”  She understands the power and importance of play. “Play is more than fun –it’s a powerful tool that helps children develop in a healthy and creative way.”

Meri and her husband, pediatrician Dr. Paul Schreiber, have always been interested in issues of concern to children and families.  Paul spearheaded the initiative which results in the bike helmet law which saves many children's lives every year. Currently, Meri is a member of the Museum's Program Committee.
