Deborah Balcarek: architect and art teacher, parent of three
"The Children's Museum is a CREATIVE learning environment with many benefits for the littlest kids and their families."
Deborah is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with a dual degree in fine arts and architecture. She teaches in the Easton Public Schools.
Deborah made a statement about the Museum saying, “It’s an organization that’s only up to good. The Children’s Museum's mission, at its' heart, is to provide a good, wholesome, learning environment for children and families. And, if there is a way I can contribute to that, and enrich children and families, and the community. Why wouldn’t I? It’s been a privilege for me to interact with the museum staff”
“It amazes me that they have a very small core group of committed staff that hasn’t changed. It’s really like a family running the Museum. It’s a thriving, growing, popular place, run by such a small group with so much integrity. They do have a lot of volunteers and everything... but it’s an amazing core staff”
Deborah would like you to know that “It does draw a lot of people from the area, but people who have to drive a little further should know that it’s well worth the trip. I would say it’s very fun and always has something new going on. There is a lot of talented staff creating a display or running a class.”
