Build It!
Calling all engineers…guided by a CME staffer, design your own structures, test strength, height and stability while learning fundamentals of engineering in the process.
Technology and Engineering – 3-5: 2; Physical Science – PreK-2: 5
FETCH!
Ruff Ruffman has sent the Museum his craziest challenges and we can bring them to your classroom or group! Participants learn scientific principles through each of his outrageously fun challenges. Are you ready for some high energy fun-tastic learning?

Forces and Energy
Explore the power of momentum, force of gravity, influence of friction and strength of air pressure in this popular workshop! With three different experiments, students will have time to explore contrasting forces and try variables to gain an understanding of forces and energy.
Physical Science – 3-5: 5; PreK-2: 3 & 4
Fossils
Examine what we can learn from fossils and step into the role of a paleontologist. Students will create layers of earth to see how fossils are formed, uncover “bones” and make and tell their own narrative from the tracks they create.
Earth & Soil – 3-5: 4; Life Science – PreK-2: 5
A collection of our staff’s favorite activities that are a perfect match to any family science night or group meeting. Make observations, follow directions, try it, use variables and share results. Guaranteed to engage every participant and help everyone discover that science is fun!

Powerful Paper
It is so cool to think green. Most of us use paper every day. This workshop permits participants to discover the strength of paper, observe through experimentation the differences in qualities of paper, and why paper strength and absorbency influence how much we use. Students will discover how much fun paper can be – it isn’t just for writing.
Physical Science – PreK-2: 5
Everyday we make choices. Discover the basics of how to create simple, healthy meals to fuel our bodies, play some fun indoor games, and build a stronger body and mind. Learn small steps you can take to live a healthier life!

The Science Roadshow is run by the Children’s Museum in Easton and is partially based on the PBS kids’ show, Fetch! funded by the National Science Foundation. Our fun and energetic staffers engage the students in various activities. The skills of predicting, estimating, observing and analyzing—so fundamental in a child’s development—are delivered in a fresh, new way.
This program is supported in part by a grant from Easton, Stoughton, Brockton, Foxboro and North Attleboro Cultural Centers, local agents, which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
